Effects of Controlled Mycorrhization and Deficit Irrigation in the Nursery on Post-Transplant Growth and Physiology of Acer campestre L. and Tilia cordata Mill.

The goal of this work was to assess the effects mycorrhizal inoculation and deficit irrigation applied in nursery on post-transplant growth physiology Acer campestre L. Tilia cordata Mill. For purpose, 144 preconditioned plants were planted an experimental plot northern Italy monitored for three growing seasons. Controlled enhanced root colonization rate years after transplanting only campestre. Inoculated showed higher survival, shoot length, turgor potential leaf gas exchange than non-inoculated throughout experiment. By contrast, cordata, no difference by fungi observed between inoculated or not transplanting. Indeed, little affected inoculation. Deficit determined CO2 assimilation more favorable water relations newly transplanted exposed lower unaffected survival compared which received full nursery. overall results suggest that preconditioning through can affect performances, although their effectiveness depends species’ dependency use strategy.
